T20 World cup 2014: India face South Africa in the second semi-final


India, who are the first team to enter the semi-finals of the ICC World Twenty20 in Bangladesh, will face South Africa in the second semi-final on April 4 after the Group 1 games concluded on Monday.

South Africa finished second in Group 1 after Sri Lanka leapfogged them on net run rate following their convincing 59-run win over New Zealand in the virtual quarter-final.

The 2007 champions India enter the semis as Group 2 leaders with 8 points having won all their four matches, beating Pakistan, West Indies, Bangladesh and Australia.

The first semi-final will be in Dhaka on Thursday. And the final will be played in Dhaka on Sunday.

India's road to World Twenty20 semi-finals:
  • Match 1: beat Pakistan by 7 wickets.
  • Match 2: beat West Indies by 7 wickets.
  • Match 3: beat Bangladesh by 8 wickets
  • Match 4: beat Australia by 73 runs

South Africa's road to semi-finals:
  • Match 1: lost to Sri Lanka by 5 runs.
  • Match 2: beat New Zealand by 2 runs.
  • Match 3: beat Netherlands by 6 runs.
  • Match 4: beat England by 3 runs.
